How we help with hip replacements

We follow your surgeon's guidance and progress your plan as your new hip settles.

  • Before surgery. Strength and walking work so you go into your operation in the best shape possible.
  • The first weeks. Getting you moving safely, walking without aids and following any hip precautions.
  • Back to activity. Strength, balance and confidence for walking, stairs, golf, the gym or gardening.

How we treat it

A clear plan through each stage of recovery, at the clinic or at home if travelling is hard early on.

  1. Assess

We review your operation, your surgeon's protocol and how you're moving now.

  2. Treat

Help with walking, stairs and getting in and out of chairs and cars, plus advice on sleep and activity.

  3. Strengthen

A progressive strength and balance plan in our gym or at home, so you build confidence.

When to book

Book before your operation, or once your surgeon says physio can start. Home visits are available if travelling is difficult in the early weeks.

Get urgent medical advice first if your wound becomes red, hot or starts leaking, you have a fever, calf pain or swelling, or sudden severe pain and your leg looks a different length. Contact your surgical team or call 111, or 999 if you're short of breath.
