Shoulder instability we see every week

Most people recover well with a structured strength programme.

  • First-time dislocation. Rehab after your shoulder has been put back in, to restore movement and strength.
  • Recurrent dislocations. A shoulder that keeps slipping out, or feels like it is about to.
  • Loose or unstable shoulders. Instability without a big injury, often in swimmers, climbers and gym-goers.

How we treat it

If your shoulder keeps coming out despite rehab, we'll help you get a surgical opinion.

  1. Assess

We check movement, strength and stability, and whether you need a scan or specialist opinion.

  2. Treat

Advice on protecting the shoulder early on, and hands-on treatment where it helps.

  3. Strengthen

A progressive strength and control programme, building up to the positions where your shoulder felt unstable.
