Who we help

Shoulder stabilisation rehab is staged carefully to protect the repair while you get your movement and strength back.

  • After a Bankart repair. Keyhole surgery to repair the labrum after one or more dislocations.
  • After a Latarjet. Bone block surgery for shoulders that keep dislocating.
  • Return to contact and overhead sport. Rugby, football, climbing, swimming, gym work and racket sports.

How we treat it

We follow your surgeon's protocol and only progress when your shoulder is ready.

  1. Assess

We review your operation and your surgeon's protocol, and check your movement and strength.

  2. Treat

Hands-on treatment and early exercises to restore movement safely in the protected phase.

  3. Strengthen

Progressive strength, control and sport-specific work, with testing before you return to contact or overhead sport.

When to book

Book once your surgeon says physio can start, usually in the first few weeks after surgery, or before your operation to prepare.

Get urgent medical advice first if you have increasing redness, heat or discharge around the wound, a fever, numbness or weakness in your arm, or your shoulder feels like it has come out again. Contact your surgical team or go to A&E.
