Sports Massage at Sports & Physiotherapy, Chiswick

Sports Massage at Sports & Physiotherapy, Chiswick

Sports/Deep Tissue Massage

45 mins         £45
30 mins         £35

Sports Massage is used in elite sport as part of both preparation and recovery.  At Sports & Physiotherapy our clinicians provide a World Class massage service.

Massage uses pressure to direct venous and lymphatic flow back towards the heart. It is therefore important that the movement is always in this direction so that there is no undue pressure on the closed valves in the veins. These valves prevent back flow of blood by only allowing blood to move in one direction (i.e. toward the heart). As the pressure from the heart pumping subsides and the blood moves back, the valves close and prevent any further back flow.

Massage may also be used to stretch muscle fibres and maintain their mobility

Gait analysis and injury screening in Chiswick, W4

Gait analysis and injury screening in Chiswick, W4

Gait Analysis & Injury Screening

1 Hour   £60

We use a joint movement muscle testing platform along with gait and jump analysis.   These are the most effective and commonly used tools in elite sports to identify and potential injury risks and areas to improve performance.  This is great if you are due to start training, increase your training or running distance.  Especially for long distance events like the 10k, half and full marathons.

Gait Analysis

We take slow motion recordings of you running to accurately analyse your steps while running. Using scientifically validation equations, we calculate the contact-flight times, force, efficiency, frequency and even the asymmetry of your legs in a simple, accurate way.

Jump Analysis

Again using slow-motion videos of your jumps, we record your take-off and contact frames to give us a reliable and valid jump height, just like the force or infrared platforms do.  We also measure the force, velocity and power profile of your jumps, as well as other relevant variables such as contact time, vertical stiffness or the reactive strength index in a simple and accurate way.

Together we can highlight areas of strengthening to improve your performance and minimise the risk of injury.
